Bus Application 2026-2027 School Year
The Village Charter School administration has proposed a strategic redesign of its 2026-2027 master schedule to optimize student learning and operational efficiency. By staggering lunch periods and eliminating transition waste, the school intends to increase instructional minutes while moving to an earlier daily dismissal. The new framework prioritizes protected literacy blocks, integrated intervention time, and uninterrupted core subjects for all grade levels. Additionally, the plan includes a daily social-emotional learning period, for which the board is evaluating three research-backed curricula: CharacterStrong, MindUP, and Second Step. This evidence-aligned approach ensures equitable instruction across the elementary and middle school divisions while supporting academic and behavioral growth. A mix of snow / freezing rain and plain rain arrives 6-7:30 AM. Temps are currently 29-32 degrees, but pavements are running a bit warmer and are likely struggling. Minor accumulations favor colder surfaces before changing to mainly plain rain by 9 or 10 AM.

The PTC Wizard Conference portal will open on Monday, March 2, at 12:00 PM.
In-Person Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday, March 11th, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM and 4:00 PM-6:30 PM and Thursday, March 12th , 4:30 PM-6:30 PM.
All conferences will be held IN PERSON.
Registration for conferences closes on Tuesday, March 10th at 3:00 PM.

Due to the impact of the snowfall on road conditions within Trenton, The Village Charter School will be closed on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. As part of the post-storm clean-up, please note that anything wet or slushy will freeze up overnight as temperatures fall, so we encourage you to be careful.
The forecast calls for heavy snowfall tonight and temperatures falling a bit below freezing, which will allow for a significant build-up of snow on all surfaces. Snowfall rates of 1 - 2"/hr are expected most of the time from about 8 - 10 PM this evening through Monday morning. In addition, strong winds may occur, which could lead to blizzard conditions and some downed trees/power outages. Please stay warm and safe.

VILLAGE CHARTER OPEN ENROLLMENT IS HERE!
The Village Charter School is currently conducting Open Enrollment for new students for the 2026-27 school year.
All applications received through February 13th will be included in our March lottery. Siblings of current VCS students will be given priority in the lottery, but an application for siblings must be submitted by the deadline.
If you know someone with a student entering grades K-8 in the fall of 2026, please encourage them to apply TODAY.
